The Work

This beautiful illustrated book with a retro feel recounts the meeting of an old tomcat, former king of Monmartre, and an orphan kitten. Charlot the street cat takes the artless young Berlingot into his care and a touching, feline friendship, full of life, is born between the two big-hearted vagabonds. Berlingot grows up under the elder’s guardianship and becomes an accomplished cat. Once grown up he founds a family and experiences the joy of fatherhood.
